See a show. Make a difference!

Ruffled Feathers is an emerging theater company that was founded in response to the question:
How can theater create justice?

We are a culturally diverse group of artists committed to:

•    addressing issues of justice through theater
•    facilitating intercultural exchange
•    building community partnerships

The company was founded in the spring of 2009 by four artist friends interested in building a direct relationship between theater and social justice. Located in New York City, we develop partnerships with organizations committed to addressing issues of justice and connect our audiences to those organizations after each performance by providing direct action opportunities.

Our first community partner is the Urban Assembly School for the Performing Arts in Harlem. UASPA is a public high school that aims to sustain a challenging college preparatory curriculum and infuse the performing arts into the academic experience.

For our first year of operation, Ruffled Feathers has non-profit status through The Field, and we are resident members of A.R.T. NY. To make a tax-deductible donation, please make checks payable to The Field and be sure to earmark for "Ruffled Feathers" in the memo.

Donations can be made payable to The Field, earmarked for Ruffled Feathers, and mailed to:
